Project Details

Sometimes the stakes get a little higher, the margin for error a little narrower. With jobs like these, Kruse shines its brightest. When Kansas State University’s Chemistry and Biochemistry building needed an update for its exhaust and supply air systems, we knew there would be more factors at play than a normal exhaust reno.

This full-building retrofit begins with demo and replacement of the entire exhaust system, as well as supplying Phoenix control valves that bring in fresh air to match the necessary exhaust. What made this project remarkable was the need to maintain the quality of chemical and biochemical experiments that rely on exhaust during the changeout.

With intense scheduling as the prime contractor, and coordinating subcontractors for new ceilings, electrical work, and repairs found along the way, extra costs on fragile experiments were eliminated, and this facility can continue to do high-quality research with dependable and updated equipment.
